The C Team had their first away day at Chevin Golf Club arranged by C team Captain Roger Smith and what a successful day it was. Remember the Wold Cup Draw well Stoke did the same each player having a number and handicap was in cateregories of three, low, medium and high so each team was balanced out. There were eight teams playing 2 from 3 Stableford. There was a some horrendous rain storms in the middle of the day but it did not dieter the winning team of Keith Dugmore, Graham Miller and Geoff Bidwell coming in with a great score of 80 points to win the competition.

The season is over 12 wins 3 halves 7 loses not bad eh, well done lads, be proud to represent Stoke Rochford 'C' Team, as your Captain I am proud of you all and it has been a privilege and an honour to be your Captain. All the very best to next years Captain Stan Clough.                                                   

As usual the very famous C Team Catastrophe was held on the 11th September played in glories sunshine with 26 members taking part plus the Club Captain Steve Cullington and guest from Rushcliffe Phil Young, a long standing friend of the Captain Roger.

The competition of the day was full handicap stableford split into two divisions 1-15 and 16-28 plus other prizes [see the results at the end]

After the competition beer was laid on by Parish Brewery at £1.00 a pint and the Stewardess Mandy laid on an excellent meal of Haggis and Neeps with a tot of whiskey for starters followed by Roast Turkey Diner and Xmas Pudding for desert , it was a true New Years celebration  and the lads were in a good spirit.

Thanks must go to Gary Skerritt and Stan Clough for checking all the cards and writing down the winners in each category. Official C Team Photographer Steve Forbes, all Teams had there photograph taken on the first tee plus many more during the evening and last of all to June & Graham Miller for providing the whiskey.

Over the year the Captains Charity was Rheumatoid Arthritis and a cheque was presented by Captain Roger to fellow C team past Captain Peter Gill, who thanked the C team and away teams to Stoke Rochford for their generous support.

Well that is it 'thank god' it's been a great two years would not have changed a thing, thanks to everyone who has supported and helped me during my two years and especially to all the lads from Stoke Rochford in turning up for the matches with no hitches you been a great bunch of guys you are all a credit to such a great club, THANK YOU.
